In Detail

A decent medium sized freezer from a well known brand that offers a couple of useful innovations that we've not seen from other manufacturers.

Family Friendly

First of all, the everyday stuff. With 202 litres of space it is great for families. In addition to all the space, there is a fast freeze function, a front-drain port to make defrosting much less of a chore and there's also an internal light and lockable lid with a nice chunky handle.

Party Trick

This freezer has an unusual feature not seen on others - you can switch it between a regular chest freezer (internal temperature of -18 degrees C) and a fridge with an internal temperature of +4 degrees C. During the summer it would make a great chiller for your barbecue drinks!

Got Your Back

Another interesting feature is what Indesit call 'clean back' which basically means that the back of the freezer has been designed to sit flush with the wall - in most other freezers it is important to keep an air gap for heat dissipation from the coils.

Basket Rationing

The only downside really is that only one basket is provided, although this is a common complaint on freezers of this size and price.

Works Outside?

Although claimed as suitable for outbuildings, the manufacturers states the minimum operating temperature is 10 degrees Celsius so we'd not be happy at putting it in an unheated garage.

Our view

This is a high-spec freezer with all the options you could wish for - it is only let down by the lack of baskets supplied and that it cannot be kept outside.

No it is not designed to be kept in unheated outbuildings where the temperature will dip below 10 degrees Celsius.

Is this freezer frost free?
No freezers are currently frost free. Manufacturers recommend defrosting twice a year. Unplug the drain port at the front to let defrosted ice from inside run off into a suitable container.

Does it have an interior light?
Yes, there is a light fitted to the inside of the lid.

How many baskets are supplied?
Two removeable wire baskets come as standard with this appliance
