AT A GLANCE...
One of the cheapest chest freezers on the market that works in the garage
On This Page:
This compact chest freezer by Logik, an own brand from Currys is among the cheapest small freezers in the UK yet can hold 5 bags of shopping and is safe for use in the garage.
If it looks familiar, that's because it used to be branded Essentials but has now been brought under the Logik wing in line with all other Currys own brand products.
Likes The Outside
It is small enough to be kept in the home, and is also suitable for unheated outbuildings down to -15c thanks to the Winter Security technology.
Despite the compact dimensions, it has 95 litres of usable storage - about 5 bags of shopping - making it most suitable for a single or two person household, or perhaps an overflow freezer for a family.
Safe for use in garages and other unheated outbuildings down to -15 degrees Celsius
One wire basket is supplied, leaving space for you to reach items underneath
The clean back allows a flusher fit and reduces dust build-up
The controls are simple and effective
Get a Handle On It
The recessed handle in the side irked a couple of people and they felt it slightly fiddly compared to a proper handle at the front, though at this price point many rival freezers are the same.
The freezer has a drain port located at the front which will make defrosting really easy. Watch out - some freezers will have this port located in an awkward position - or none at all and you will need to bail out the melted ice from inside!
This is one of the cheapest chest freezers that you can keep safely in the garage. People like its compact nature and that it just gets on with the job. No chest freezer is frost-free but this one at least makes defrosting painless.
