Curry's own brand offering great value and is safe to use in the garage
This chest freezer is a firm favourite in the Logik range - a Currys own brand - that offers 142 litres of space within a compact 62cm wide cabinet. Logik appliances are all about value for money, and what they lack in luxury touches they more than make up for it in areas that matter.
142 litres of space is about 7 bags of shopping which makes it ideal for a smaller household or even as an overflow for a larger family.
There is no interior light or lockable lid and only one basket is supplied, but to be honest at this price level it is not uncommon to see this.
And if you've no room indoors, the best feature of this freezer is that it can be kept in unheated garages and outbuildings even if the temperature should dip as low as -15 degrees Celsius - that's confirmed by Currys.
A front-mounted drain port helps make defrosting easier (some freezers have the port stuck round the back) and the freezer can keep food safe for up to 16 hours in the event of a power cut, lower than some other rival models but should be perfectly adequate.
User feedback is very good, with over 900 comments on Currys website and a total score of almost 5 out of 5! Some users don't like the recessed side handle - they'd prefer a proper front mounted one but that does seem to be the only major gripe.
If you need a compact freezer that can just get on with the job and won't break the bank, this one does tick all the boxes. You won't find cheaper for the capacity.
