IN A SENTENCE...
Clever and so-far unique split-level design maximises internal storage
Digging through a ton of frozen food to get what you want is a thing of the past with this one! This compact Haier has an unusual but ingenious feature we've not seen before on a chest freezer.
A Freezer of Two Halves
The unit is basically divided into two sections with a conventional counterbalanced lid for the top section and a handy (and so far unique) pull out drawer for the lower section.
(No) Digging It
This makes it so much easier to reach products stored at the bottom of the freezer without having to dig through all the other stuff first! The only drawback of course is that very large items that would normally fit in a single freezer may not fit either compartment.
Finally Frost Free?
Otherwise it's a fairly straightforward no-frills small chest freezer. It does have one special feature - its "Total No Frost Technology" circulates cool air inside the compartments and is designed to prevent ice build-up. We notice there is still a drain port (on the side) for manual defrosting though.
Pricey but Flexible
You do pay a bit more for this compared to a freezer of a more regular design, but this split level system will allow you to make better use of the available space. It would be nice to see a larger version (this one has only 110 litres in total).
